Green Point Home, New Residence, Novato CA
Situated atop a hillside in Novato, sat a vacant lot with both great opportunities and challenges. The residential property was blessed with spectacular panoramic views and southern exposure, but had the difficult constraints of a sprawling septic system that divided the property and abundant black oak trees that needed to be reserved.  Both owners were empty nesters looking to create a hillside home to grow old in. The challenge was to design an accessible home on a hillside that takes advantage of the views and sun with most of the living area on a single level, easy access to a pool/cabana and fit the home within tight building envelope. The final design created a custom, barrier-free home with no interior or exterior stairs at the main living level, wide hallways and doors, an open bathroom for the master suite with roll-in shower and a home that takes full advantage of the views and sun.
